Russian as a foreign language

Learning Russian as a foreign language is not only about getting to know its linguistic aspects. It is also about introducing the student to the world of Russian culture and equipping them with the skills to participate in Russian-speaking society. In our classes, we take such topics as the alphabet and numbers, common greetings and farewells, key sentences to communicate in Russian and talk about yourself. We develop reading skills to strengthen students’ mastering of new words and encourage home reading. We encompass Russian grammar studying genders and pronouns, agreement of adjectives and verbs, and other basic grammar rules. Our choice of lexical units depends on a cultural play that we study throughout the year, which is proudly performed by our students as an end-of-year presentation.
